SEPTEMBER 23, 2013 - Oh my goodness!
Ok... explanation I don't have much time to write sometimes because Mondays are insane.. ESPECIALLY because that's the day that all the families want to see us. (like today.) I only have 1 hour on the computer. Not because i can't have more. Simply because in our schedule that's all that we have time for. (also because the cyber cafe is only open in the weirdest hours). Again. I'm hoping for a more relaxed p-day next week. (except it will be my birthday.. so who knows what people will be planning)..
OK.. my sector.... = Paradise.
First. My companion is Elder Leit. (pronounced Light). He's from Denmark. He reminds me a lot of Makay Miller. He's GREAT! we get along SO well. He's our District Leader. And he LOVES to work. So HALLELUJAH!!!
We share a gorgeous apartment with two Tahitians named Elder Kaiha and Elder Smith. They are the funniest people I've EVER met. Oh my word. We never have a sore day with these two. Holy smokes. But.. I honestly don't think you'd understand why I think they're hilarious. It's mostly the way that they speak French, and the phrases they use that are so slang. It's just hilarious. They are literally the two happiest people I've ever met. and it makes our work so much better to always have that CONSTANT optimism around.
The Branch is small (we had 40 at church yesterday) But it's sure awesome. We have quite a drastic gap in our branch. It's all really old people, or really young couples with really young kids. There's MAYBE 1 single adult. .. maybe. But they all have burning testimonies.
We have a few great amis. 2 of which already have Baptismal dates that we're working towards. Who knows. maybe I might have a baptism this transfer. Although.. we are also teaching this guy in Spanish.. (well, I am teaching him because my comp doesn't speak Spanish haha) but.. yesterday. I committed him to baptism for the 28 of October. and He said YES. Boom. My first baptismal date fixed. First time seeing him. The lesson went really well. The spirit was strong. And it's a perfect moment in his life. It all just fell into place. (or I just fell into a perfect situation with not much work necessary). His name is Jimmy. More to come from him I'm sure..
We do a TON of service right now. what with the harvest of prunes. and soon the grapes. We spent ALL of Saturday with a family picking prunes. It was actually REALLY fun. And REALLY effective. The father has been less active for a while, but after our visit, he seemed pretty positive about the church and coming back soon. We have a family night with them tonight.. (that's why we don't have much time right now.)
We also are in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. So we decided P-Days need to be full of Fun. We work hard when we need to, and Play hard when we need to. Today we went to visit the largest under ground lake in Europe. It was pretty cool. (but Papi, it is no where near as cool as Jameos del Agua in Lanzarote, Spain.)
One of the towns in my sector is called Sion (translated Zion). Don't worry. Every joke has already been made about it and it's name. But nope. They never get old. Every time we are heading to work in Sion, we always get excited that we're going to ZION!
This email isn't going to be a NOVEL because I want to send LOTS of pictures.
Just know that I love you so much. That's for the Early Birthday wishes. Don't worry, I'll make sure to get sung to in 3 or 4 different languages on Sunday.
I love you guys! :)
