Cotton Candy Crazy and a Power Outage!
Well I just typed my whole email and it all deleted............... Maybe slightly really frustrated......
Oh well what can you do!!
So sorry if this one is really short. But good news is I will be calling you on SUNDAY!!! I am very excited! I am thinking I will call around 5pm your time- you said Ati gets out of church at 4:30 right? I know we run on Late Lago time so I thought that would be good haha. I will only have 40 minutes as a head up so we will have to watch the clock maybe each take 5 minutes or something.... idk you can discuss how you want to do it. I am going to focus on being coherent and not crying :)
So this week has been EXHAUSTING, but also really fun! We had a power outage starting yesterday morning and the power just came on an hour ago. Yet we still kept the VC open. It was crazy giving tours in the dark last night... let’s just say it didn’t work and we closed early.
So some fun highlights and unique experiences I had this week started with the Cultural concert we had Tuesday night at the VC! It stared with a powerful fireside and singing. They were all very talented! the room was soo full of the spirit. They then took a 5 minute break to prepare for the "show" hahah it was a contrast to the spirit they had just brought. They came in dancing form different cultures, singing, and yelling. Maybe Beyoncé (spelling...?) came over the speakers. It was crazy, but maybe a little fun!
Oh and Saturday we were able to do Service!!! We love doing service but we definitely lucked out this time with service! We worked at a carnival working the Cotton Candy machine and the Popcorn Machine! It was so fun! Hey and as a bonus we were able to give away a pass along card!
Sunday Night was also incredible! We had this incredible Piano player come in! to give you an idea of his talent- when he was in kindergarten he came home from school and his mom asked him what his favorite part of school was he said nap time because they got to listen to music- he then proceeded to sit at the piano and play a famous concerto ( I can’t remember one) He had never played the piano before- he played it all from memory and perfectly. It was amazing! Our Less active who we are working with (Sergio) came and after we sat and read the Book of Mormon with him. It was amazing to see him understanding how the scriptures can apply to him. That is probably one of my favorite things to do with our investigators is read the scriptures with them.
We have still not heard from most of our investigators, but we were able to have a lesson with Aleda and Daniel. A part member family! Well Aleda is a member and so are her children, but they are all grown up and Her and Daniel are "esposos" so living together and not married, but she wants an eternal family so they are working on a wedding and he is starting to investigate the church. Besides the extra push from his "wife" he really does seem sincere and interested and already has a lot of faith! He accepted a baptismal date for June 7th!
Oh we had a neat experience with fasting this past Sunday! hardly any of our investigators have been going to church so we decided to fast for them and guess what Delfino went to church for his first time since we have been meeting with him! Testimony of Fasting was definitely strengthened that day!
Oh papi on Monday your friend and some of his children stopped by! We actually met them when we were in Santander with Gabby that one time. They are from Utah, but they decided to live in Spain for a year! I believe He took a photo a sent it to you- I hope you got it. It was a lot of fun to talk with them and show them around the VC! I also met one of your old colleagues! He knows you from the BYU Masters program. He left me his card so I could tell you hello for him, but I have managed to misplace the card...
Oh and McKay I may or may not have given out your email to an RM who served in your mission! it is crazy how I have been meeting so many French people! But he is very excited for you and wanted to email you about it and answer any questions you have! His name is Rex Winslow
Well my time is running up and I’m sorry that this second draft isn’t as good as the first, but I love you all and can’t wait to speak to you on Mothers Day!!!
