"Invite, invite, invite!"
Hola familia!!! Como estan? ya veo que han regresado de Espana y estan otra vez en la vida Loca de la familia lago! yay! And Kristi I am so happy that you got your patriarchal blessing!!!! yay!!! Like McKay said read it and read it and read it and study it and treasure it:) Its the best! And you look REAL good in that 1st class chair;)
So this week we went on Exchanges! (like what McKay mentioned in his weekly email) but I went out of my area with Sister Atkinson. She is in the English YSA ward near bell-gardens in the HOOD! It was like little Mexico!!! I want to be transferred down there when I go full field because all I wanted to do there was knock those doors and talk to Latinos We met some interesting people down there and had some crazy experiences. We did something I have never done before. We invited EVERYONE to be baptized right there on the street.... and the most incredible part... people said YES! it was crazy! My favorite part was when we had to go get gas. We went into this gas station and started talking to this kid named Sunny and when we invited him to be baptized he said yes! And then we prayed with him right there in the Gas station. It was crazy- As missionaries we just do what we want... (regarding the Gospel of course!) Sadly though Sunny bailed on the next appointment but it left me with a great memory and hopefully a seed in his heart! I loved going on exchanges, but I was pretty bummed not to be in my area because we had a lot of great lessons scheduled. One of which was Lorenzo (the guy we met on the street who wants to be Mormon) He has a baptismal date for August 18th. He is great although we think something might be a little off about him, but hey everyone needs the Gospel! He Calls us though 13 times a day- everyday. We have yet to meet with him again because he has a busy schedule, but he said he will be at church this next week.
I was going to also miss our first lesson with Susanna (the woman we met last Sunday that was such a tender mercy!) But we ended up coming back early so I could go! We taught her and her husband and when we invited them to be baptized Susanna says YES! That is what I want! And my husband too! We of course asked him and he said yes! We are very excited! Susanna has the most prospect of getting baptized out of our investigators.. well besides Daniel of course. Susanna was so sweet. Emilio (he is sister Cole's recent Convert from last September I believe. He is awesome and always comes with us to lessons and is preparing to serve a mission. He is already a better missionary than I will probably every be!) Anyway She was telling him about when she met us last Sunday She said that on Sunday she had been feeling really down and felt like something was missing. That night she saw us coming and she said she normally makes her way inside or finds an excuse not to listen to people about religion, but for some reason she stayed and listened. As she listened she asked herself if this was the answer she was looking for and she said something warm came in her heart and she knew that was God telling her it was!
The next day we finally met with Daniel and his "esposa" Aleyda and set a new date for them! They are getting married on August 10th and Daniel is going to be baptized on August 11th! We are so excited for them:)
This last Thursday I had to give a training (teach a 20 minute lesson) in District Meeting. Last time I had to do that I pretty much failed it.... but this time it really went so great! I wasn't a total nervous wreck and I really could feel the spirit testifying as I spoke. It was a positive experience for me:) Improvement is always a good sign!
I just need to write that I love Sister Foutz! She is hilarious!!! We had a rough day so we decided to bake and cook dinner at the same time... lets just say there was flour everywhere... I almost burnt the apartment down yet we laughed the whole way through it. We have a great time together! and plus she puts up with my spaciness!
So this last Sunday was pretty much a miracle. 1st off we were able to finally go to church for the full 3 hours! I haven't been able to do that in over a month! (because of the VC shift) I was beginning to feel less active~! Anyway we were sitting there during the opening song and Daniel walks in with his family, and then I look over and almost shout for joy- Epy walked in. (remember her? our old investigator who we had to drop?) She came in and behind her was Norma and Angel (the couple we met when we first met Susanna ) They could only stay for Sacrament meeting, but they still came! 4 investigators at church! it was incredible! And Epy said she wants to start meeting and will be at church every other week (has to work) and still wants to be baptized... We will see! I know I will see her baptized... I just don't know when, but I hope its sooner than later! I remember when we were first teaching her - Fran, sister Stevens, her, and I were all crying and I said a prayer that I would see this woman baptized and the spirit confirmed I would! So I believe it.
Then at night we had the Davis Family Fireside (sister Davis was a missionary here she sings beautifully and so does her family!) well Francisca, Emilio, and Susanna came! After we were able to show Susanna around the Visitors Center. She kept saying she felt so much peace in her heart. We showed her Gods Plan for his Family (the family video) and after it she broke down sobbing. I held her as she cried and when she calmed down she said I never saw life like that... I never understood that that is how God wants life to be... i get it now. She then said she has so many friends who dont know this that need to know this. She plans on inviting them to come to the lesson we are having with her on Tuesday and wants to bring them next week to the Visitors Center. She is already a missionary!! She is so prepared! I felt truly humbled once again to be apart of her life and this journey she is just beginning This Gospel is truly one of Change.. One that changes us for the better.. fills us with peace, hope, real happiness, and true love! I know it, I love it, I live it! I am so grateful to be a missionary at this time!
Thank you family and friends for all the support I love you all!
