"Meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings..."
Hello family and friends! Mckay thank you for your story about blessing the little baby! What an incredible opportunity and Kristi I got your letters thank you sooo much I LOVED THEM:)
So this week has been full of , you will never guess it, MEETINGS! No really... Yesterday was our first day in our area since last Monday .. It was crazy! So we said goodbye to Sister Cole and Sister Mueller. I really miss them both so much! We ran after their car as they left and got ready for the knew ones to come. I walked outside to see the new missionaries taking a photo and the first person I spot is 3TREES! Okay I mean Sister Forbush! Such a breath of fresh air and home:) It is so much fun to have her here in the VC! and the second person I saw was the sister next to her. I saw her and knew she was going to be my companion. Sister Foutz (Kelsy Foutz) is from Mesa Arizona, was studying at BYU before she came on the Mission, She is 19, and is an only child. She is So excited to be here and we are working on the Spanish:) We have a ton of fun together and she is so positive and driven in doing the Lords Work.
We really have had just meeting after meeting, but we were able to see a lot of tender mercies in the VC this week. We had two experiences that really stood out to me. The first was this women from Mexico that came in. We taught her the whole restoration and gave her a Book of Mormon. The best part is that She lives in our ward boundaries and said she wants to come to church- so hopefully we will see her there at church! The next was a member who was sitting in the Christus She came for a minute because she wanted to feel at peace. Two of her sons are inactive and she has a lot of family that are not members and she was feeling discouraged like she needed to do more. As we began talking I preset the Christus (the Recording of the words of Jesus Christ) All I can say is I cant take any credit because It was the spirit working through me and not me, but I invited her to think about how god is proud of her for what she is doing. her eyes began to water and after as we talked she cried and thanked us. She left and said she was bringing her family the next day. She came back the next day and requested that me and sister Foutz gave her family a tour. She had two of her non member aunts there. As the tour went the one aunt began to cry because she had lost her son who she thought she would never see again. After teaching her about the temple and eternal families and the restoration she seemed to be more at peace. Near the end of the tour we invited them to learn more and the one aunt said she believed in it and what we did, but she wasn't willing to learn more. We had addressed concerns and I could feel so strongly that they knew the church was true, but weren't willing to change. When they left they hugged us goodbye and told us they loved us and were grateful to meet us. I cried when they left. The answers were right there in front of them, they knew it and felt it, but chose to ignore it. I don't know why sometimes in life we choose to not take God's help, but In that moment I caught a glimpse at God's patience and love for us. He loves us enough to let us make our own choices. I learned a lot from this experience- more than I have time to write, but I was grateful for the opportunity to bare my testimony to them.
I am excited for these next weeks. We are hoping to have some new solid investigators form our list of potentials to visit. Daniel is ready to be baptized and we are patiently waiting for the divorce papers so he and his "wife" can get married so he can be baptized! The work is every moving forward. The mission is pushing me and teaching me things that will shape and mold the rest of my life. I am so grateful to be here. I am so grateful for the teachings of Jesus Christ. This is the only way to happiness. To real happiness! I love you all!
Love sister Lago.
