December 16, 2013 Jam Packed Week
Well I dont even know where to begin so much has happened this week. I think i will start with Wednesday. So Wednesday we went to the Temple!!! One of the greatest blessings of being here in LA is having a temple so close! I love the peace I feel in the temple! This sounds crazy because you would think as missionaries we feel that peace all the time and happy, but these last few weeks have been hectic and emotional and not so peaceful so I was grateful for the time I had to be in the House of The Lord. It was also the day papi came to the Vc! It was really strange knowing he was right down stairs and fun to meet bill and fun that you got to meet some of my besties here form the mish! All everybody kept saying was WOW!!! You look just like your father!! Although Bill I know clarified that I am much prettier hah. Anyway It was a lot of fun and I loved the cute giant Christmas card form the ward! And all the packages! Although i havent really opened any since I will be waiting till christmas. A tender mercy from this week was that the Delgado family (kelly who I taught) they went through the temple and were sealed as a family. The huge tender mercy was that I and sister Moeller were able to be there! I spent a good 5 hours in the temple on saturday! As I sat in the endowment room and watched Rosi and jesus walk in tears rolled down my cheeks. The spirit in that room was incredible. To see two people I have come to love so much in the lords house! There are no words to describe it! I then for certain cant explain how i felt when we were int he sealing room and their two daughters kelly and jenny came in dressed all in white. I know families can be eternal. I know that there is no greater Joy we can feel than having an eteranl family. I am so grateful for that opportunity and the opportunities I have had to testify in the Visitors Center this week about Eternal families. Oh and I also went through the whole session in Spanish! it was Awesome!
Another Tender mercy was Tina! Sister Foutz and I had met her on one of our last days together. She is Persian and is being taught by the Farsi Elders. We found her the day that president Weidman dedicated the Farsi mission in our mission. We are the 2nd mission to have Farsi Speaking missionaries. And this week Tina came into the Visitors Center and sis Foutz and i were able to see her and talk with her. She is getting baptized December 29th! We are hoping to be able to go.
Also Susanna and Narciso's baptism is this sunday!!! SO EXCITED!
So people we are teaching in good ol marvista (pops you can change names if you would like i just want to give yall an update on them!) First David! he has been taught for 5 months and this sunday was his first sunday at church! Darla also was at church! She even sang in the ward choir and will be playing her flute at church on Sunday! We also are teaching Susan. She is tough cookie.. pray for her. Those are our main teaching pool right now which for a vc area is pretty great and i really do love them and the ward is amazing!
But today president called me and told me this will be my last transfer in the Visitors Center. He also released me from my calling as Visitor Center Sister Trainer. We also have transfers tomorrow. Sister Ellis is leaving to a different area and i am getting a new missionary. yes I will be training again. I am excited to train again, but my heart broke a little this morning. Good thing the new sister leader trainer is someone i Love. hah its sister Foutz! I am so proud of her! She is going to do an amazing job. It is going to be hard and weird to be in the Vc and not have my calling and i cant even begin to express how sad I will be to leave this place. This is my Home. it is my healing ground. it is a place i have come to know my savior. a place where he has molded me and helped me change. It is a place of miracles. I love this place and I love my mission. If there is anything I have learned on my mission is that the Lord knows us better than we know ourselves and i know he has much in store for me. I just have to deepen my faith and trust in him more. I know that as we do that true peace and happiness are found. I know this work is not about me and it is His. I pray that i can do all he needs me to here in this last transfer in marvista. Pray I go Spanish full field though! I love you all! thank you for everything and your support!
