August 20, 2013 "Good news!".
Hola mi familia y buenos amigos!!! Este email tiene muchas buenas noticias!!! First off thank you for all the support and letters I LOVE THEM!!!
Okay so lets get down to business... And defeat the Huns! sorry I am excited.. We exercised to that song this morning haha Okay so Wednesday Night came and we were in the Visitor Center.. We were in the middle of two tours! An Elder's tour with the investigators and one with our investigators- Sus/Nar. It was a bit chaotic and we didn't get dinner... and we hadn't gotten the infamous Wednesday Night call- meaning that your training... Lets just say focusing on the tours for the last hour with empty stomachs was hard. President Weidman called asking for me. I thought for sure I was being sent Full Field training Whitewashing (opening a new area) We had 40 new missionaries come in and they were going to be opening new areas and needing trainers. I felt sick to my stomach all night... We nightly planned in silence... and waited for President Weidman to call us back. He did and he said he felt inspired to call me as the new Visitor Center Sister Leader Trainer. At this point Sis Foutz was cheering at the top of her lungs and I was shocked. That was not what I expected one bit! But I felt relieved to know I wouldn't be leaving the VC for this transfer. After the initial shock was over of course I had a slight feeling of panic and thinking there is no way I could do this, but after this deep sense of peace and calm came over me and I felt that the Lord knew me perfectly. As unqualified I feel and as nervous as I am for Thursday I feel like this is exactly what I need. I love responsibility and I can always use a good push to help me grow and conquer my fears. There are two VC sister L.Trainers. Sis Barney and now me. Sis Barney is a fantastic missionary with a crazy amount of energy! (she leads our morning work outs haha) . Anyway it entails teaching/role playing every Thursday in front of the other 20 sisters and the senior couples and occasionally the mission president and his wife. It also includes being in charge of the VC shift schedule/Car schedule(a continual nightmare!), and doing exchanges/mini interviews with all the sisters. On Sunday I helped make the new Sunday schedule so everyone can work in the VC, but still attend the church block and I Loved it... Sadly its true "planning" is my middle name. The only thing I am really nervous about is the public speaking/teaching thing.. But I know the Lord will help me strengthen my weakness, but Thursday morning keep a prayer in your heart for me okay?
Okay next item on the list... The 2nd call- Monday Night!
The Call from PENMAR "Sister Lago and Sister Foutz, are you excited for another transfer?,,, because you are both STAYING!!!" Needless to say we were very HAPPY! I am so happy to be staying one more transfer in San Vicente! And we should have 3 baptisms this transfer if everything continues the way it is! Daniel should be getting baptized this Sunday (he has his last interview Wednesday and SUS/Nar have a date for September 15th. I love these people so much and I know at some point I will have to leave them... But I am grateful that times isn't yet. I will spend at least 1/2 my mission in San Vicente and I couldn't be happier! I also will most likely be staying in the VC for at least 3 more transfers. They usually keep VC sister leader trainers for that long. So we shall see:)
So that is the gist of the exciting news! This week was also full of great teaching opportunities!
One of the greatest tender mercies this week was in church this Sunday when Sus/Nar came up to me and asked me who they should give their tithing envelope too... Have we taught them about it.. nope, but they felt they should pay it. Was it only their second time at church.. yes. And then Narciso who has been a little hesitant told me he prayed about Joseph Smith like we had asked him too and he said God was answering his prayers. Susanna then said her prayers were being answered as well. I am so grateful for these two and their desire to change and follow Jesus Christ. They already seem so different from he first day I met them- Incredible what the light of Christ can do!
We also started the LA English program (go like it on facebook please!- Kristi for me too!) We are teaching English classes for free on Tuesday and Thursday nights and last week we had 12 non members who all said they would be interested in learning more!! Genious!!! Sis Foutz and I were the doors men aka we greet people and sign them up for classes and invite them to meet with us to learn more about Christ.. Its the best!
Yesterday we were full field sisters for a day!!! The VC was closed so we were able to do a full day in our area! It was much needed and we were able to accomplish so much!!! It would be amazing to have that much time everyday!!
I love this work so much and I know with out a doubt that this is Christ's church on the earth and that this is the Only way to lasting happiness here on earth and in the life to come! I am so grateful for Our Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity we have to repent and change every day! I really do stand all amazed every single day of my mission! I love you all so much:)
Thank you for everything!
