Hola mi familia y amigos! Este semana pasó muy muy rápida!
I'm thinking update on my investigators, My p.day activities, and my mental/spiritual health okay:)
So this last week we FINALLY met with Daniel and Aleda! I am not sure why, but in Missionary life not seeing someone for a week and a half is a very very long time! Aleda is a member and Daniel is investigating. He is incredible and has so much and is excited to be baptized! One problem... They aren't married! So we were able to set a date for the wedding for June 29th (which is actually his birthday) and a baptismal date for June 30th! It will be a crazy weekend! We are just waiting on some papers coming in the mail and we are having the faith he will make his date!
We had a crazy lesson with Odilia! Sister Merciales came on Splits with us for an hour and a half and we went to try and contact our investigator Odilia who we haven't seen in 3 weeks. We got there and she said now wasn't good... and the general other excuses... and then sister Merciales did something ingenious! She doesn't really speak Spanish so in broken Spanish she asks to use the bathroom and we are let right in. Sister Cole and I just stared in amazement. We went in and started talking to her... what then turned into an hour and a half crazy lesson.... She had a thousand questions and a lot of doubts and halfway through her brother plus family joined us.... Maybe it wasn't a very organized lesson but two good things happened... We got two referrals and Odilia said the closing prayer and cried. I have no doubt she felt the spirit in that moment.. She said we could come back on Thursday - So we will see. All in the Lords hands... well and her personal Agency of course.
Next is Reynaldo! A new investigator! We met him while he was working on his car outside his apartment. I think I wrote about him last week being the first street contact in which I didn't feel super awkward... Anyway he showed up for an appointment at the VC! which is so rare! We can barely get our investigators and members to do that let a lone a street contact! The lesson went alright and he had a lot of questions, but he was really interested in the Book of Mormon and said he would read it cover to cover- we are meeting with him tomorrow!
So "killing" sister Cole is a daily adventure. I am very grateful for this experience. Every day I am reminded to not take one thing for granted and that this time is very short. She has made me realized how extremely blessed I am to be serving in San Vicente in the Visitors Center! It really has come to feel like home here. On Sunday we had a huge lunch party thing after Church with the ward for Fathers Day and it was so great to be running around helping the relief society set up. I also absolutely love serving in the VC- Miracles happen every day here.. and not to mention the wonderful sisters I get to serve with- Its like a sister hood! with 26 of us! Another small benefit of being in the VC is on slow days they let me play my violin:)
So today we made Tortilla de patata! My first attempt! And it didn't turn out too bad! It made the whole apartment smell like home though! and then we went to the Alley! The four of us- Sister Mueller, sis Coplan, sis Cole, and I have too much fun:)
I think one of my favorite things we did this week was our special Zone conference this week with president Baker. He is leaving here in a week or so- so he had us over for a BBQ and then we each shared our favorite scripture. It was amazing to hear how many different and sometimes the same scripture was used. There is so much comfort and peace that comes from reading the scriptures! I think that is one thing I am learning is to truly love the scriptures! One of the most common thing that was said by everyone was trusting in God. It really starts there... Having that trust or faith which then means you act on it! And once we are changing our will to his he truly blesses us and we feel peace, hope, and happiness!! Its simple! He loves us and wants us to be happy! He has given us all the tools to be so- we just have to be willing to do it! I LOVE THE GOSPEL!
